Dual-clutch transmissions (DCTs) are automatic transmissions based on manual transmission architecture. A complex system essentially consists of two gearboxes in the same housing. When one clutch is engaged, the other has the correct gear prepared, minimizing interruption during gear shifts and improving efficiency. A specially formulated fluid is required to maintain the high performance of these advanced transmissions.
